Abstract

This journal aims to research the consumer behavior of generation Z when shopping on the marketplace from an Islamic perspective with a qualitative methodology using a library research approach. This research explores various media facts about the perspective of generation Z's consumption behavior towards online shops. Generation Z is the biggest consumer in online shops, this is because of ease of access and also freedom in shopping. However, this fact actually makes generation Z become consumptive in shopping at online shops. This consumptive behavior is contrary to the consumption perspective in Islam. Islam teaches behavioral procedures for balanced consumption. In an Islamic perspective, it explains that the basis of consumption and consumption behavior in Islam focuses on fulfilling basic needs. Even though you have abundant wealth, if its use is not managed well and based on measurable benefits, prosperity will fail. Research is limited in analyzing the consumer behavior of generation Z globally, not yet at the stage of refinement in a deeper and more specific scope
