The overarching objectives that the syari'ah seeks to attain in life are known as maqashid syari'ah. An important idea in the study of Islamic law is maqashid syari'ah. The purpose of this study is to understand the significance and urgency of maqashid syari'ah, as well as its origins and categorization, and to determine how it applies to syari'ah banking. Normative juridical research is conducted utilizing a library search as the operational normative juridical research approach. According to the study's findings, Maqashid Syari'ah developed through time, going through two phases: the pre-codification period and the codification phase. In the future economic system, an economic system is deemed successful if it can make its citizens prosperous. The economic system must thus be able to work toward achieving its core objective, which is social welfare. The establishment of sharia banks is intended to advance general welfare. The phrase Maqashid Syari'ah becomes the key support in every operational and product development in Islamic banks by referring to this primary goal.
